Inpatient Mental Health Treatment
at Keystone Health Group
For individuals whose mental health conditions are severe enough to require 24-hour care, Keystone Health Group provides inpatient psychiatric stabilization and treatment integrated with our addiction treatment program.
When Is Inpatient Mental Health Treatment Needed?
Inpatient mental health treatment is appropriate when a person's psychiatric symptoms are severe enough to require 24-hour monitoring and intervention, or when outpatient treatment has been insufficient to stabilize symptoms. Common reasons for inpatient psychiatric care include:
- Suicidal ideation or behavior
- Severe depression or mania requiring stabilization
- Psychosis or acute psychiatric crisis
- Severe anxiety or panic that cannot be managed outpatient
- Co-occurring substance use disorder requiring integrated treatment
- Inability to care for oneself due to psychiatric symptoms
- Recent psychiatric hospitalization requiring step-down care
- Failure of outpatient treatment to achieve symptom stability
Our Inpatient Mental Health Program
Psychiatric Stabilization
Our board-certified psychiatrists provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and medication management for all inpatient mental health clients. The goal of the stabilization phase is to achieve sufficient symptom control to allow engagement in active treatment.
Integrated Dual-Diagnosis Treatment
For clients with co-occurring substance use disorder, our inpatient mental health program is fully integrated with our addiction treatment program. Clients receive simultaneous treatment for both conditions from a coordinated clinical team — eliminating the fragmented care that results from treating each condition in separate programs.
Individual Psychotherapy
All inpatient mental health clients receive individual psychotherapy with a licensed therapist. Therapeutic modalities are selected based on the client's specific diagnoses and needs, including CBT, DBT, EMDR for trauma, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
Group Therapy
Group therapy is a core component of inpatient mental health treatment. Groups address psychoeducation about mental health conditions, coping skills, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and relapse prevention.
24-Hour Medical Monitoring
Our nursing staff provides 24-hour monitoring and medical support. Medication administration, vital signs, and clinical status are monitored continuously to ensure safety and support rapid response to any clinical changes.
